Physiotherapy

Physiotherapy is great for helping you to prevent or treat musculoskeletal injures or conditions. Whether you are looking to manage a recent sports injury, recover from joint surgery, work towards improving function in your daily life or you have problems with the way your lungs or other internal organs, physiotherapy can be a useful part of your holistic care.

Mike is a Registered Nurse and Registered Massage Therapist (RMT) with a broad range of skills and experience. This allows him to work with each and every person to assess their needs and help to establish a personalised plan of care that helps to address their holistic health and wellness concerns.

With over 20 years or nursing experience in England and Canada, he has worked in a wide range of clinical settings including home care, surgical care, emergency medicine and trauma and has a specialist degree in Tissue Viability and has completed training as a nurse specialised in wound ostomy and continence and advanced foot care. He has completed advanced medical aesthetic training and can employ a wide range of techniques to improve both the health and appearance of your skin. He has also completed training in medical/western acupuncture.

As a RMT he has advanced orthopaedic assessment skills that sit alongside his nursing background to allow him to undertake assessments of musculoskeletal and neurological symptoms. He can then target a wide range of manual therapies to help improve function and help to reduce symptoms of tension, neuropathy, mobility restriction and psychological stress.

Leah graduated from McGill University with a Masters of Physiotherapy supported by a Bachelor of Arts and Science with a focus in Health Studies from Quest University. She moved to the Yukon after working on a Cree reserve in Northern Quebec providing quality and equitable healthcare for marginalized populations. After living in the North, she welcomed all the amazing qualities Northern communities have to offer such as a strong sense of community, caring for one another and amazing access to the outdoors. She enjoys biking, hiking, skiing, paddling, climbing and centering herself with yoga practice.

Certifications: Canadian Academy of Manual Physiotherapy level 1, McKenzie Diagnostic Therapy Level A and B, Pelvic Floor and women’s health, advanced pediatrics specialization, Dry Needling Certified (ACDNC),

Paige completed her chiropractic training at The University of Western States in Portland Oregon. Prior to completing her chiropractic schooling she obtained a degree in Kinesiology as well as one in Human Biology.

She emphasizes functional movement and mobility through her care and treats using manual and instrument assisted adjusting, a variety of soft tissue techniques and exercise therapy.

Paige has a special interest in and has received extra training in biomechanics and gait as well as women’s health.
